MANUAL GOV (Alpha CL = 110° ÷ 120°).
Resetting the lever to this position causes switching off the servovalve in the fuel-metering pump
and switching on the power turbine speed limiter (of helicopter rotor).
Further governing the fuel flow according to the required engine rating is accomplished by manual
resetting the CL to the range Alpha CL = 40° ÷ 90°.
The "EMERGENCY OPERATION" range is used in the case of malfunction of the electronic limiters
unit, that causes the automatic control with the servovalve in the fuel-metering pump is not
possible.
B.
Start system power supply.
(1)
Engine starting or motoring, described in para 3, can be accomplished at power supply to the
starting system from the following power sources:
(a)
Internal electric supply (helicopter supply source) that is the helicopter battery (possibility of
using during start of both engines) or the alternator mounted on the main gearbox (powered
by the engine, which starts as first one, supplied by the battery or airfield mains and used to
start the second engine).
(b)
External electric supply (airfield supply source - possibility of using during start of both
engines.
NOTE: Detailed procedure during starting the engines, which are powered from these
sources are described in the operational manual of the helicopter.
C.
Cold motoring.
Cold motoring is motoring the gas producer with the electric motor starter without fuel supply.
(1) Cold motoring is accomplished in a cases as follows:
(a)
Cooling the engine;
(b)
After false starting;
(c)
After unsuccessful start;
(d)
After service of oil system (installation, oil draining);
(e)
After burning of the fuel in the combustion chamber;
(f)
Check for the oil pressure increase in the engine;
