Read on Fig. 504 corrected values of CT0T
c
and N1
c
for corrected power
P
c
, calculated in para (a).
Compare corrected values CT0T
c
and N1
C
, read on the chart and the
values calculated in (a). If calculated values N1
c
and CT0T
c
are lower or
equal to the values as read of Fig. 504 - the check result is positive. If
not, the maximum engine power is likely to be limited too early by the
compressor speed limiter or the gas temperature limiter. In order to
prevent it, it is recommended to clean the engine compressor (see
POWER PLANT – CLEANING AND PAINTING).
C. Inspection of the fuel-metering system functioning.
(1)
Inspection of the compressor 6th stage air bleed value functioning.
(a)
Start and warm-up the engine at ground idle.
NOTE: During engine start-up, the signalling light "AIR BLEED" should
turn itself on.
(b)
Set smoothly Fl rating.
While setting, observe the light "AIR BLEED" and speed N1 scale. Read
N1 value while the light turns-off.
NOTE: If the light does not turn-off after Fl is reached, increase
operation rating until the light turns-off, but not more than up to
gas generator speed by 3% higher than upper limit of closing the
BV at current ambient condition (see Fig. 505).
(c)
Smoothly decrease the operation range.
Read gas generator speed value N1 while the light "BLEED" switches on.
These read values N1 shall be within tolerance range of the BV actuation
to be marked on chart (see. Fig. 505).
(d)
Set the Gl position.
(e)
Stop the engine or continue consecutive checks.
(2)
Inspection of the gas temperature CTOT limiter functioning at control level.
(a)
Start and warm up the engine at Gl range.
(b)
Reset the knob "LIMITER CHECK" to the position CTOT
(c)
Set the switch "LIMITER CHECK" to "ON" position.
