B. General Requirements concerning the assembly of Thread Joints.
(1)
If the part to be tightened is hot, allow the part to cool to ambient temperature before final torquing.
(2)
Unless otherwise specified in the assembly procedure, lubricate the threads of the connections in the hot engine part
with the grease before assembling (Section 72-02-00, Table 202, item 5).
The grease which is intended against seizings and gallings shall be placed in the form of thin and even layer and
the excess of it shall be completely removed by clean clothes.
(3)
Assembly of the thread joints having specified torque limit shall be performed as follows:
(a)
match a nut to the screw (bolt) and screw it 2 ÷ 3 times on the screw (bolt) thread (self-locking nuts to the nut
locking collar only).
