(1)
Shut down the engine in sequence as follows:
(a)
Set the Gl, run 2 ÷ 3 min;
(b)
Reset the CL to the ENGINE SHUTDOWN position (alpha CL = 0° ÷ 10°);
(c)
Measure time of decrease in compressor turbine speed CT from 30% to 10% , which shall not be
less than 4s;
(d)
During shut down, make sure if abnormal noises, knocks, rasps etc. do not occur in the engine and
the compressor turbine and if main rotor speed decreases smoothly;
(e)
After the rotor stoppage, close the aircraft fuel cut-off valve.
WARNINGS: 1.
BEFORE STOPPAGE OF THE ENGINE ROTORS, RESETTING THE CL TO
THE OPERATION POSITION (ALPHA CL OVER 10°) AND SWITCHING-OFF
THE
POWER
SUPPLY
OF
THE
ENGINE
START
SYSTEM
IS
CATEGORICALLY PROHIBITED.
2.
IF AFTER THE ENGINE STOPPAGE, THE GAS TEMPERATURE DOES NOT
DECREASE OR EVEN TENDS TO INCREASE, THEN IMMEDIATELY COLD
MOTORING MUST BE PERFORMED IN ORDER TO PREVENT AFTER- '
BURNING THE FUEL IN THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER. IN CASE THE
AFTER-BURNING
OF
THE
FUEL
IN
THE
COMBUSTION
CHAMBER
OCCURS
DURING
THE
ENGINE
STOPPAGE,
THE
1
ST
STAGE
COMPRESSOR TURBINE BLADES SHALL BE INSPECTED THROUGH THE
IGNITION UNIT OPENING.
NOTE:
If the engine starts are not anticipated, install stoppers and protective covers on the
engine compressor inlet, the engine exhaust nozzle and the compressor 6 th stage air
bleeding valve outlet within 10 ÷ 15 min. after engine shut down.
H.
The engine shut down during flight.
WARNING:
THE OPERATIVE ENGINE SHUT DOWN DURING FLIGHT IS ALLOWED ONLY IN CASE OF
PERFORMING THE TESTS OR TRAINING FLIGHTS. THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN FOR THIS
PURPOSES DURING FLIGHT AT ICING CONDITION IS NOT ALLOWED.
