In order to shut down the engine during flight, perform as follows:
(a)
Shut down air bleeds of the engine when stopped;
(b)
Reset the CL to the Gl position (alpha CL = 25° ÷40°), run 2 ÷ 3 min.
(c)
Reset the CL to the ENGINE SHUTDOW N position (alpha CL = 0° ÷ 10°);
(d)
Shut-down the main fuel cut-off valve of the engine stopped.

Emergency shut down of the engine during flight.
In case of emergency, shut down the engine from any range by resetting the CL to the ENGINE
SHUTDOWN position (alpha CL = 0° ÷ 10°). Emergency situations, when the engine shall be stopped, are
described in the service manual of the helicopter.
Automatic engine shut down during flight may occur in consequence of the emergency power turbine
protective system actuation. When the engine is stopped, reset the CL to the ENGINE SHUTDOWN position
(alpha CL = 0° ÷ 10°) and close the main fuel cut-off valve of the stopped engine.

WARNING:
ENGINE STARTING DURING FLIGHT IS FORBIDDEN FOLLOWING THE EMERGENCY
SHUT DOWN DUE TO ANY ACCESSORY, ASSEMBLY OR SYSTEM FAILURE OR IN
CASE OF EMERGENCY ENGINE SHUT DOW N SYSTEM ACTUATION AS W ELL AS IN
CASE OF O.E.I. FLIGHT IT ICING CONDITION.
If permitted, the engine start during flight, may be performed at altitudes up to 4000 m (13123 ft) and at
autorotation turbocompressor speed not greater than 10% .
(1) During engine start in flight, perform as follows:
(a)
Reset the START-MOTOR-MOTOR WET switch to the START position;
(b)
Reset the ENGINE START switch to the RIGHT or LEFT position depending on which engine
is started;
(c)
Open the main fuel cut-off valve of the helicopter fuel system;
(d)
Reset the CL of the started engine to the alpha CL = 50° ÷ 60°.
