8.3.1 General indications for correct management of the adiabatic cooler
With regard to the adiabatic mode, the presence of water in the summer season and its use for wetting
the humidifying panels is not, in itself, a specific problem, but it is important that all the components
prepared for its use are in perfect working order to ensure optimum operation when the function is
required.
Considering that, except in the case of different needs and settings, use of the adiabatic mode is limited
to a few weeks a year, it is essential that all components are checked as the hot season approaches.
These checks take just a few minutes and they avoid the onset of problems when use of the adiabatic
circuit is required.
Once the visual checks described below have been carried out, it is advisable to carry out a complete
functional check of the plumbing circuit. To perform this operation it is necessary to access MANUAL
mode from the control panel on the electrical control cabinet.
For this activity, refer to the specific user manual supplied with the operator panel.
8.3.2 Maintenance of the cooler's body
The main body does not require any special maintenance work. It is advisable to carry out a general
visual inspection at least once a year, in order to identify any onset of corrosion in the sheet metal
structure. If necessary, restore the affected area by removing the oxidation and restoring the paintwork.
If you need to clean this, simply wash with water and soap or a suitable detergent.
We strongly advise against the use of solvents.
8.3.3 Maintenance of the PVC air inlet panels
The panels placed on the cooler's air inlet have the triple function of preventing direct light from
reaching the humidifier pack, preventing the escape of any water splashes and retaining coarse solid
bodies which may be sucked in by the fans.
They must be kept clean and intact, consequently ensure they are regularly inspected and any
obstructions removed (e.g. leaves, pieces of paper, etc.) replacing them if they show any signs of
damage and/or ageing.
Removal of the panels from their seat is achieved by simply pulling them outwards, whereas to replace
them, simply position them in their lower seat and bend them slightly so that they can also be inserted
in the upper seat.
8.3.4 Maintenance of the humidifier pack
It is possible to clean the humidifier pack using specially prepared water-based solutions. Contact MITA
Cooling Technologies S.r.l. Technical Office for further information
It is advisable to perform a visual inspection just before summer; replace it if there are any signs of
excessive soiling or scaling.
Inspection of the humidifier pack and its replacement (if required) can easily be carried out by removing
the air inlet panels referred to in paragraph 8.3.3 above.
The use of panels of a different type to the original ones may alter the performance of the cooler and
in particular of the fan, especially in adiabatic mode.
