Pos. 11. Collection sump

This is designed to hold the water taken from the collection tanks. It also houses the wetting pump and the
recirculation kit plumbing connections.

Pos. 12. Recirculation kit

The recirculation kit was developed to ensure that the process water which does not evaporate is recovered
and reused in the humidification process.
Recirculation is activated only when the machine is in adiabatic mode. Its operation is not continuous but
regulated by wetting cycles of variable duration depending on the design conditions.
The recirculation kit is made up of:

• Submersible pump: takes the water from the sump in which it is submerged and sends it to the

wetting circuit.

• Equalisation: PVC pipe, with a diameter suitable for the circulation flow rate. It connects the water

collection tanks to the sump in which the pump is submerged.

• Water filling valve: solenoid type, it manages sump filling. The valve is normally closed and opens

only as required by the water level.

• Minimum and maximum level sensors: magnetic float type, the minimum level sensor protects the

pump from any risk of cavitation and indicates the need to replenish the water in the sump; the
maximum level sensor manages the maximum water level in the sump.

• Make-up pipe: PVC pipe with threaded gas connection of a diameter suitable for the circulating flow

rate.

• Overflow: PVC pipe which comes into use if the fluid level in the tanks exceeds the maximum limit.
• Drain pipe: PVC pipe with threaded gas connection with a diameter suitable for the circulating flow

rate.

• Sump emptying: allows for the complete manual emptying of the sump.
• Delivery pipe and wetting circuit: PVC pipe with a diameter suitable for the circulating flow rate. It

allows the delivery water to reach the distribution tanks located above the adiabatic pack.
