2.2. Design criteria
During the machine design phase, the principles and concepts set out in the relative paragraphs of the
harmonised standards listed below were adopted:
• UNI
EN
ISO
12100: 2010
Safety of machinery
— General principles for design — Risk assessment and risk reduction
• UNI
EN
ISO 14120: 2015
Safety of machinery
— Guards — General requirements for the design and construction of fixed
and movable guards
• UNI EN ISO 13857: 2020
Safety of machinery
— Safety distances to prevent hazard zones being reached by upper and
lower limbs
Compliance with the relevant paragraphs of the aforementioned harmonised standards has made it possible to
eliminate or reduce risks in the best possible way, both during normal operation and during adjustment and
maintenance work, throughout the machine's life cycle
.
The components used have been carefully chosen from those available on the market and the materials which
make up the machine
(and its accessory tools) are free from risks to people's health and safety. All parts
supplied by third parties are CE marked (when required) and comply with the relevant reference directives. All
components have been strictly checked in compliance with the quality standards prescribed by the regulations
in force.
Furthermore, the necessary warning and protective measures against residual risks have been adopted for the
machine
(see following paragraphs).
2.3. Materials found on the machine
None of the materials used to construct the machine components is dangerous for the people who interact with
the
machine
at
any
time
during
its
life
cycle.
Specifically, the materials used to construct the machine are mainly:
• ferrous materials (predominantly);
• plastic materials (e.g. the casings on the control panels and for electrical cable insulation);
• copper-based materials (e.g. for wiring and electrical conductors).
During operation, the machine does not emit hazardous mists, dust or fumes.
The machine uses normal oils and greases to lubricate the work tools and drive components.
Unless otherwise indicated, all the power supplies, utilities and set-ups indicated in the paragraph on machine
installation are the user's responsibility.
