7.6.1 Limescale formation
Special treatment of the mains water used for the wetting cycle is not necessary, provided the quality limits
indicated in the table are observed and the checks and periodical maintenance described in this manual are
duly performed.

7.6.2 Formation and development of algae and bacteria
The functional logic of the PAD-V adiabatic cooler envisages daily replacement of the wetting water, regardless
of whether it is used or not.
This approach minimises the root causes of water stagnation and the build-up of substances which could
potentially cause the development of bacteria, as the length of time the water remains inside the machine is
not sufficient to create this condition.
CAUTION
In addition to observing the aforementioned parameters, it is necessary to adequately control
biological pollutants and strictly observe the scheduled cleaning and maintenance operations.
The formation of organic compounds, if uncontrolled, reduces the efficiency of the plant and
may contribute to the proliferation of microorganisms which are potentially harmful for both the
water circuit and human health.
IMPORTANT
Cooler maintenance staff should follow the recommendations provided in EUROVENT 9-7
guidelines (Ed. 2011) to keep cooling systems safe and efficient.
