8.3.5 Fan maintenance
The fans are maintenance-free. Replace if they break down.
We recommend that you carry out a periodic inspection of each motor fan assembly, in order to be able to
identify in time any malfunction.
Inspection of the fan unit can be carried out from the upper part of the cooler, after having first
disconnected the power supply.
8.3.6 Maintenance of the heat exchange battery
It is advisable to periodically check their overall condition and in particular the finned pack, both on the
inner side of the cooler (by removing the openable hatch(optional) if installed on the model being
serviced) and the side facing the adiabatic packs (removing the panels, see point 8.3.2 and 8.3.3).
Any accidental obstruction of the spaces between the fins causes a decrease in thermal yield,
followed by a rise in the operating temperature (battery water inlet and outlet) and an increase in
electric motor absorption resulting in electricity wastage. If the clogging is limited to the presence of
insects or pollens, the use of compressed air may be sufficient, taking care not to exceed in it use as
this could damage the fins.
For cleaning there are specific detergents on the market designed not to affect the aluminium fins of
the battery.
In case the finned pack is damaged, the fins can be straightened by means of some special metal "combs"
which are readily available on the market.
8.3.7 Maintenance of the water distribution and collection system
The water distribution system on the humidifier pack and water collection consists of AISI 304 stainless steel
channels, in order to prevent any oxidation and corrosion even in when running in dry mode.
The water is distributed by gravity and the holes have a diameter large enough to
avoid clogging. No nozzles of any kind are envisaged.
It is advisable to periodically inspect and clean the channels, especially as the summer season approaches or
before adiabatic operation starts. The channels can easily be inspected by removing the closing cover located
in the upper part of the cooler.
8.3.8 Maintenance of the water supply, equalisation, drainage and replenishment
system
The system for filling and emptying the tanks and controlling the relative level is managed completely
automatically. The sump can be emptied completely in manual mode.
The tanks are equalised by means of a special connecting tube that prevents imbalances in the levels.
Level control is carried out by two capacitive sensors and two solenoid valves placed in the water collection
sump.
Periodically check that:
• the solenoid valves for making up and draining the water are in perfect working order, neither blocked
nor obstructed;
• the float level sensors are always clean and free from scaling and muddy deposits that may limit
their movement, if necessary clean (this operation must in any case be carried out at least once a
year, at the beginning of the summer season);
• there are no water leaks in the rubber joining sleeves, in particular those on the equalisation pipe
and on the pump suction pipe.
