su p p lem en ta l protection . G ive the side a irbags room to w ork by sittin g in the cen ter o f
the sea t w h ile the vehicle is m ovin g with sea t belts w orn properly.
F ront A ir Bag S torage Areas:
A tta ch in g a n o bject to a f r o n t a ir bag storage a rea o r p la c in g som eth in g in fr o n t o f it
is dan gerou s. In an acciden t, the o b jec t co u ld interfere with fr o n t a ir bag inflation
a n d injure the occupants.
A lw ays keep the fr o n t a ir bag storage areas fr e e o f objects.
Side A ir Bag Storage A reas:
A tta ch in g things to the sea t in su ch a way as to cover the o u tb o a rd side o f the sea t in
any way is dangerou s. In an a ccid en t the o bject cou ld interfere w ith the side a ir bag,
w hich inflates fr o m the o u tboard side o f the fr o n t seats, im pedin g the a dded
p ro tectio n o f the side a ir bag system o r redirectin g the a ir bag in a way th a t is
dangerous. F urtherm ore, the bag cou ld be cu t open spew in g exhaust.
D o n o t han g n et bags, m ap p o u c h es o r b ack p a d s w ith side straps on the fr o n t seats.
A lw ays keep the side a ir b ag storage areas in y o u r f r o n t seats fr e e to deploy in the
even t o f a side collision.
H ot A ir Bap Inflators:
H o t a ir bag inflators are dangerou s. Im m ediately a fter inflation, the inflators in the
steerin g w heel, d a sh b o a rd o r the seatbacks are very hot. You cou ld g e t burned. D o n ’t
touch the in tern a l com pon en ts o f the a ir bag storage areas a fter the bags have
inflated.
Installation o f F ront-E nd E quipm ent:
In stallation o f fro n t-e n d equipm ent, such as fr o n ta l p ro te ctio n b a r (kangaroo bar,
bu ll bar, p u s h bar, etc.), snowplow, o r w inches, is dangerou s. The a ir bag crash sen sor
system cou ld be affected. This cou ld cau se a ir bags to in flate unexpectedly, o r it could
p re v e n t the a ir bags fro m in flatin g du rin g an acciden t. F ron t occu pan ts cou ld be
seriously injured. N ever in stall any fro n t-e n d equ ipm en t to y o u r vehicle.
