Turn the w ing bolt counterclockw ise.

P erform the rem oval procedure in reverse.
▼ Spare Tire
Your M azda has a tem porary spare tire.
I t’s lighter and sm aller than a
conventional tire, and is designed only for
em ergency use and should be used only
for V ERY short periods. Tem porary
spares should N E V E R be used for long
drives or extended periods.
A WARNING
D rivin g with a Tem porary Spare Tire
on Ice o r Snow:

dangerou s. H a n d lin g w ill be affected.
You c o u ld lose co n tro l o f the vehicle
a n d have an accident. P u t the spare
tire on the re a r axle a n d m ove a
reg u la r tire to the fro n t.
& CAUTION
To avoid dam age to the tem porary
spare or to the vehicle, observe the
follow ing precautions:
• D o n ’t exceed 80 km /h (50 m ph).
• Avoid driving over obstacles.
A lso , d o n ’t drive through an
autom atic car w ash. T his tire ’s
d iam eter is sm aller than a
conventional tire ’s, so the ground
clearance is reduced about 25 m m
(1 in).
• D o n ’t use a tire chain on this tire
because it w o n ’t fit properly.
• D o n ’t use your tem porary spare on
any other vehicle; it has been
designed only for your M azda.
• U se only one tem porary spare tire
on your vehicle at the sam e tim e.

Turn the tire hold-dow n bolt
counterclockw ise w ith the lug w rench.
