Warning/Indicator Lights and Beeps
▼ Charging System Warning Light

T his w arning lig h t indicates a m alfunction
of the a lternator or of the charging system .
If the lig h t com es on w hile driving:
1 . D rive to the side o f the road and park
o ff the right-of-w ay.
2 . T urn o ff the engine. Inspect the
alternator drive b e lt for looseness and
breakage.
3. If it’s O K , the charging system has a
problem . C onsult an A uthorized
M azda D ealer as soon as possible.

CAUTION
D o n ’t drive w ith a loose o r broken
alternator belt. T he engine could
overheat because this belt also drives
the w ater pum p.

▼ Engine Oil Pressure Warning
Light
This w arning light indicates low engine
oil pressure.
If the lig h t com es on w hile driving:
1. D rive to the side o f the road and park
o ff the right-of-w ay.
2. Turn o ff the engine and inspect the
engine o il level (page 8-11). If it’s low,
add oil.
3. C heck the light.
If the light rem ains on even after y ou add
oil, have y o u r vehicle tow ed to the nearest
service station or to an A uthorized M azda
Dealer.

CAUTION
D o n ’t run the engine if oil pressure is
low. It could result in extensive engine
dam age.
