equipped w ith side a ir bags, the im p a ct o f an in flatin g side a ir bag c o u ld cause serious
injury o r death to the perso n . C hildren are m o re likely to sleep in the veh icle; w hen
they do, they are m ore a t risk in the fr o n t p a s s e n g e r ’s seat th a t h as a side a ir bag
becau se they m ay slum p over into the p a th o f the seatback-m ou n ted a ir bag. I f a child
c a n ’t be sea ted in the rear, do n o t allow the ch ild to lean over o r a g a in st the fr o n t door,
even i f the ch ild is seated in a ch ild-restrain t system.

in this w ay c a n ’t spread the im p a ct fo rc es p ro p erly a n d the two p a ssen g ers cou ld be
cru sh ed tog eth er a n d seriously in ju red o r even killed. N ever use one b elt f o r m ore
than one p e rso n a t a time.
A CAUTION
A seat belt or child-restraint system can b ecom e very h ot in a closed vehicle during
w arm weather. To avoid burning y o u rself o r a child, ch eck them before you o r y o u r child
touches them .
