Configuring the Encoding Profiles
•
For H.264 compression:
a Select
H.264
from the
Encoder Type
list.
b Select the video resolution from the
Resolution
list.
c Select the H.264
Profile
from the list.
Note:
The
High Profile
is allowed only for the primary encoding profile. This
profile ensures a more optimized compression for the image, at the cost of a
higher processing power.
d Move the
Framerate
slider to configure the frame rate for the video. Alternatively,
you can select or enter a value in the text box.
e Move the
BitRate
field slider to configure the bit rate for the video. Alternatively,
you can select or enter a value in the text box.
Note:
The bitrate is applied to the video at the maximum frame rate. If a lower
frame rate value is configured for the video, the bitrate is lower than the
configured value.
f
Move the
GOV Length
slider to configure the ratio between I-Frames (key frames)
and P-Frames. Alternatively, you can select or enter a value in the text box.
This option configures the interval in which the key frames (
I-Frames
) are coded.
A value of 30 (60 if HDR is enabled) indicates that each group of 30 frames must
contain 1 key frame and 29 P-Frames. A value of 1 (2 if HDR is enabled) indicates
that every frame must be an I-Frame.
g Select the bit
Rate Control
mode from the list.
Options include
VBR
(variable bit rate),
CBR
(constant bit rate), and
LBR
(low bit
rate, a setting designed to reduce bandwidth usage).
Note:
The
LBR
option enables the
Compression
,
Dynamic GOV
and
Max Gov
settings. If you select VBR or CBR, skip steps
h-j
.
h For
LBR
bit rate control, select the image compression factor from the
Compression
list.
i
Select
Enabled
from the
Dynamic GOV
list to enable the dynamic group of video
feature.
The
Max. Gov
slider appears.
Note:
The dynamic group of video feature allows the sensor to dynamically
increase or decrease the number of I-Frame according to the complexity of the
scene. This setting increases the video quality at the cost of an increased
bandwidth usage.
