RECEIVER-DRIER

EXPANSION VALVE
The expansion valve

located at the side of the evaporator and thermostatically meters
the flow o f
pressure liquid refrigerant into the evaporator. The refrigerant supply

controlled b y a capillary tube stropped t o the outlet pipe o f the evaporator, as the
temperature changes a t the outlet pipe so the refrigerant flow through the valve changes.
When liquid t o the core o f the evaporotor exceeds requirement the outlet temperature
drops, this
i s
sensed via the capillary tube, closing down the expansion valve and reducing
the flow o f
refrigerant. The expansion volve is pre-set
and has no
external adjustment.
CONTROL SWITCH
The a i r conditioning temperature control switch is located on the right hand side o f the
instrument binnacle. Turning the control clockwise t o the required temperature position
w i l l engage the compressor clutch and drive the
