Remove the shaft, the operating dog and shaft locking ball and spring,

the small interlock plunger inside the front end o f the shaft.

3rd and

4th

Gear Selector

Slacken the screw securing the fork

(D)

after removing the locking wire.

Remove the shaft, the fork, the shaft

and spring, and the small

interlock plunger inside the front end of the shaft.

1st and 2nd Gear Selector

Slacken the screws securing the fork

(E).

Remove the shaft and the shaft

b a l l and spring; the fork cannot be

removed at this stage.

Interlock plungers

To Remove

Prise out the blanking plugs at potitions

(F)

(G) and push out the interlock

taking care to note

the

order and position of the plungers.

NOTE:

One long plunger between

and 5th selector shafts and

shorter plungers between

and

selector shafts

5th and reverse selector shafts.

GEAR

SELECTOR REPLACEMENT

1st

2nd Gear Selector

Locate the locking ball

spring i n position.

Compress the spring ond ball assembly,

mm diameter rod.

Insert the gear selector

through the gearbox outer casting, the

operating fork and into the differential end of the

costing up to the

neutral position.

Using a set of 1st and 2nd synchro gauges

3180-T

locate the fork i n the

neutral position. The sets of gauges ore available i n different thicknesses,

select a set of gauges giving the least movement of the fork.

Tighten the

screws securing the fork to a torque o f

and remove the gauges.
