DIFFERENTIAL

ADJUSTMENT

There are two methods by which

can be made t o the differential bearings.

Position the differential and bearings.

Place the differential together with bearings i n the end of the gearbox

tightening the nuts b y

only.

on the left-hand differential shaft housing,

locate the drive shaft i n the planet wheel and align the screw holes.

Fit screws, taking care t o f i t the correct lengths

tighten.

Place the gearbox casting on its left-hand side, supporting i t i n

this

position.

(f)

Place against the

differentiol bearing the adjusting washer

(13) followed by the distance washer (12) and the distance piece

The total thickness (12) and (13) should not be less than

mm.

Locate the right-hand differential drive shaft i n the

wheel and

align

holes. Withoutagasket fitted on housing, f i t the

assembly i n position and top lightly on the differential shaft.
