FUEL

Page

Release the clips

remove the rubber hoses connecting the fuel tonks to

the f i l l e r necks, first disconnect

breother pipes from the f i l l e t necks.

From each tank, remove the two bolts securing the tank i n the body. One

bolt is i n the forward port of the

wheel

and the other belt on the

inside (chassis side).

Replace

Reverse the removal instructions.

FUEL

TANK

SENDER

To Remove

Remove the engine cover.

Remove the battery.

Remove

engine compartment floor panel to gain access t o the top of the

fuel tank.

Visconnect sender unit electrical connections.

Unscrew the three screws securing the sender unit to the top of the tank.

To Replace

Fit a new sealing ring and coat the threads of the three retaining screws with

Avdelbond-A-115 or similar. Ensure

threads are fitted, but take care

that excess does not f a l l into tank. Tighten screws t o

t o

only

(hand tight), do not

as the

w i l l distort and screw threads

may strip.

under the heading

INSTRUMENTS.

FUEL PUMP

To Remove

Disconnect the battery.

Remove the pipes from the pump which i s accessible from under the LH side

o f the vehicle on the back of the engine bulkhead. Some vehicles have the

petrol pump f i t t e d under the

engine compartment floor ponel. Insert a

plug i n the pipe from the tanks, otherwise the fuel w i l l drain out.
