Pull off the sparking plug

and

the plugs.

Cleon the plugs and reset the

to the dimensions given i n

TECHNICAL DATA, or i f the electrodes are badly burnt, f i t new plugs and

re-connect the leads.

Remove the ignition distributor cop and examine the contact-breaker points.

Replace the points

badly eroded, or excessive metal transfer i s evident.

Adjust the

to the dimension given i n TECHNICAL DATA and refit

the distributor cap.

Remove the air cleaner element

necessary).

Disconnect the fuel feed pipe at the carburetters ond check

fuel flow.

When

carburetters are fitted proceed as follows:

(a)

Remove floot chamber cover

withdraw the float assembly.

(b)

Remove a l l jets

blow clear with an

use wire,

(c)

Remove the needle valve

valve body and blow clean with an a i r

line.

(d)

Clean

and float chamber using clean petrol.

Replace a l l jets, needle valve body and needle valve.

When ZENITH-STROMBERG carburetters are fitted proceed as follows:

(a)

Remove the carburetters from the engine and carefully place on a

clean bench.

(b)

Release centre-plug from the base of each carburetter.

(c)

Remove floot chambers by releasing the retaining screws and with-

drawing in

vertical

to ovoid

t o the float mechanism.

Remove float chomber

Remove needle volve from floot chomber cover and remove

ring

from base centre-plug

(e)

Thorou

wash

Refit needle volve into float
