Check a l l ports ore

there are no

adhering to the parts.

2 .

F i t the front roller beoring (I) on the pinion (k) using a suitable length

(240 mm) of tubing (inside diameter

mm). Make sure the washer

i s

fitted against the pinion before pressing on beoring.

Feed the pinion shoft through the opening i n the gearbox casting from the

differential end.

Onto the shaft inside the gearbox costing first

the 1st gear loose

pinion (h), together with its needle beoring

(m) and inner bearing

sleeve (n). Smear the bearing before fitting with transmission oil.

N e x t place onto the shaft the synchro ring (g), the synchroniser

with

the reverse gear teeth facing the back of the georbox

the synchro ring

Now slide on the 2nd gear loose pinion (d) to

ether with

i t s needle bearing

cage

and inner beoring sleeve

Smear the bearing before fitting with

transmission o i l .

7 .

Finally

on the shaft the

washer

and the double pinion (r)

and push the shoft t o the

of the gearbox.

8 .

F i t the rear double bearing (c), taking core to assembly the double bearing

races and beoring ring i n the original positions.

9 .

Fit the 5th gear pinion (b) with the small shoulder on the pinion against the

double bearing.

10.

Using spanner

tool 3181-T tighten the threaded

speedometer drive wheel (A) to a torque of 2 0 to

I f both shafts are fitted, then the shafts con be locked b y selecting the

reverse gear and any othergeor.

Before fitting the primary shaft and covers to the gearbox, check the pinion

cone setting as defuiled i n "Ad
