To Replace 

Reverse the 

instructions, 

or similar,  to the pipe 

Take care when refitting silencer mounting straps not  to domoge 

the small  heat shield fitted on gearbox mounting plate. 

MANIFOLD 

To Remove 

1 .  

Disconnect  the downpipe from  the monifold 

the  flange  joint 

discard 

the gasket. 

2 .  

Disconnect  the downpipe from the  front end of  the primary silencer and 

remove. 

3. 

Support  the engine and release the 

engine mounting bracket,  i f  necessary, 

t o  enable  removal  of  the manifold. 

4. 

Remove  the nuts with their plain washers,  securing  the manifold  to the cylinder 

head.  Remove  the manifold and discard the goskets. 

Replace 

Reverse the removal  instructions,  but use  new  gaskets ot  the manifold to

linder 

and manifold t o  downpipe  flange  joints, 

new nuts also at 

these  joints. 

'Firegum'  or similar at the downpipe  t o  

silencer 

joint.  The clamp  on  the downpipe  to primary silencer  joint 

be so 

positioned that  i t  w i l l  not project  below  the silencer.
