Configuration Procedures

This chapter provides specific procedures for configuring the Access-T,
including the DTE and network interfaces and the RS232 ports.

Access-T retains configuration settings (except tests and certain loopbacks) in
non-volatile memory. Thus, no configuration settings are lost if power is dis-
connected. However, registers do get reset to zero.

System Configuration

Access-T system configuration parameters include the system name, the date
and time, the clock source, the password, the operation mode, and the terminal
interface communication parameters.

Setting the Communication Parameters Via the Craft Port

To perform configuration or diagnostics via the Craft Port, the Access-T and
the terminal must be configured for the same communication parameters.
Access-T supports VT100 or TeleVideo 925 (or compatible) terminals via an RS232
DTE interface.

The Craft Port has the following basic configuration:

Data Bits: 8.

•

Stop Bits: 1.

•

Parity: None.

•

Interface: Terminal.

•

XON-XOFF: Enabled.
