Compliance is now limit
The Series 2400 instruments used the term "compliance" to specify the maximum current or voltage
that the instrument can source.
The Model 2461 uses the term "source limit" for similar commands. To read a general description,
see
This change affected the commands that you use to set and verify the source limit. The following
table shows the Series 2400 and the Model 2461 command that replaces it.

Event log
The Model 2461 provides expanded system event logging. Events include errors, warnings, and
information messages. You can also log commands through the front panel.
In the Model 2461, event tracking is done as events are received by the instrument, not when they
are executed.
Refer to
(on page 2-142) for information.
Buffers
The Series 2400 has two buffers. The Model 2461 has two default buffers and you can define
additional buffers. Only one buffer is active.
For information about using buffers, see
(on page 3-2).
