9. Commissioning
These commissioning instructions assume the operator has read and
fully understood how the user interface functions; refer to 8. User
Interface.
Leave commissioning the Fridgewatch 2100 Controller until after the
plant has been installed, all refrigerant, condenser cooling water,
evaporator cooled medium and electrical connections have been made,
and everything is otherwise ready for starting the plant for the first time.
Commissioning involves the following steps:
•
Check power supply connections, interconnecting wiring and
jumper settings on the electronic cards; refer to 6.
Installation.
CAUTION
These checks must be made before applying power to
Fridgewatch 2100 for the first time.
•
Configure Fridgewatch 2100 to suit the refrigeration system
by changing Configuration Settings S41 and above. Once
this has been done, no further changes should be necessary
unless physical alternations are made to the plant.
•
Define the control parameters by reviewing and changing
Operator Settings S1/S36.
•
Select the operating mode. Select ‘manual’ start/stop –
‘manual’ capacity control mode for starting the plant for the
first time and for the initial period of operation.
Changing Configuration and Operator Settings and the Operating Mode
are governed by use of the Supervisor Key.
9.1.
Authority to Use the Supervisor Key
Changes to the Operating Mode, Operator Settings and more especially
Configuration Settings by persons who do not understand the
implications of their actions, make the plant vulnerable to damage with
the associated risk of injury to personnel. The Supervisor Keyswitch
safeguards against this eventuality. Changes to settings or the operating
mode cannot come into effect without using the Supervisor Key, so the
authority to make changes can be confined to designated key holders.
WARNING
Use of the Supervisor Key should only be entrusted to
responsible personnel directly involved with the
operation and maintenance of the plant.
Under no circumstances will J & E Hall International
accept responsibility for damage to plant or injury to
personnel caused by unauthorised use of the
Fridgewatch 2100 Controller Supervisor Key.
9.2.
Checks to be Made Prior to Supplying Power to Fridgewatch 2100
•
Check the position of the supply jumper on the FCPS1 power
supply card corresponds to the supply voltage, 240 V or 110 V;
refer to Fig 16.
•
Check solenoid valve coils, for example, for the capacity control
valves, are of the correct voltage to suit the supply.
