(km/h) and fuel consumption
(L/100km) is shown in the above
figure. Driving at 3/4 top speed will
reduce fuel consumption by about half.
Tip 5 Minimum engine idle time
If stopping the engine when
encountering jam traffic, crossing a
railway crossing or a long red light
wait, you will save more fuel in
30-40s than that needed to re-start
the engine.
Tip 6 Regular maintenance
To keep an economic driving, you
had better drive your car to the JAC
authorized after-service centers for
regular maintenance. A wellmaintained
engine will not only improve the driving
safety and keep your vehicle value but
also decrease fuel consumption.
A poorly-maintained engine may incr
-ease fuel consumption by 10% .
Check the engine oil level each time
you add fuel. The engine oil consump
-tion to some extent depends on load
and rotating speed of the engine.
Considering different driving habits, the
engine oil consumption may be up to
1.0L/1000km.
Additional tips: Light oil will help redu
-ce fuel consumption.
Tip 7 Unload unnecessary load
Besides good driving habits and
regular maintenance, removing unnece
-ssary load before driving will also
help save fuel.
As each kilogram of weight will
increase fuel consumption, it's necess
-ary to check your trunk at times to
make sure that there is no unneces
-sary load.
Tip 8 Reduce short-distance driving
frequency
Only when reaching a proper
temperature, the engine and catalytic
converter will reduce effectively fuel
consumption and emissions.
For a medium-level car, its fuel
consumption in a short time after the
engine is cold-started may even
amount to 30-40L/100km. After driv
-ing one kilogram, its fuel consump
-tion will reduce to 20L/100km. The
engine temperature and fuel consum
-ption will reach a normal level after it
drives about 4km. Therefore, it is
better to avoid short-distance driving.
If your destination is not too far from
you, you had better walk there.
The ambient temperature is also a key
factor. At +20
℃
and -10
℃
, the fuel
consumption values (L/100km) for the
same distance (km) will come differ
-ent. The fuel consumption is higher in
winter than in summer.
