Fuel line and connector
Check fuel lines and connectors for
leaks and damage. If any, replace them
with new ones.
Maintenance description
Engine oil and filter
Maintain your car as per the time
intervals specified in the Warranty &
Maintenance Manual of JAC J5 Pass-
enger Car. Replace engine oil and filter
more frequently when road conditions
are poor.
Vacuum hose and crankshaft
ventilating hose
Check the surfaces of hoses for aging
or mechanical damage. If the hoses are
hard and crisp or get scratched, torn,
cut, ground or illy-expanded, it will
cause hose wall to get damaged. More
attention shall be paid to hoses closing
to hot components (such as exhaust
manifolds).
Check to make sure that hoses do not
contact heat sources, sharp articles or
moving parts to avoid their mechanical
or heat damage. To ensure driving
safety, check all hose connectors
including clamping bands and couplers
for leakage. If there is corrosion or
damage, immediately replace with a
new one.
Fuel filter
A blocked fuel filter will result in a
limited car speed, damage of emission
system, and hard start. If there are
excessive foreign materials in fuel
tank, you will need to frequently
replace the fuel filter.
When a new fuel filter is installed, run
the engine for a few minutes and
check if there are leaks at the
connectors.
Air filter
It is recommended that you use
genuine JAC air filter.
Timing belt
Check the timing belt and its relevant
components for damage or deform
-ation. Check if the tension of the
timing
belt is normal. Replace
damaged ones.
Spark plug (petrol engine)
Always use an spark plug meeting
heat resisting requirements.
Engine coolant
Replace the engine coolant at regular
intervals as specified by maintenance
requirements.
Drive belt
Check all drive belts including those of
water pump and the generator for cuts,
scratches, ill wear or oil stain. If
necessary, replace with new ones.
Regularly check drive belts if their
tension is normal. If necessary, adjust
it.
