5. Inspection before
commissioning
NOTE
The components listed in this chapter must be
checked by the operator each time before work-
ing with the machine!
5.1 Engine hood
The button to open the engine hood is located
in travel direction on the left hand side.

Hold the engine while opening
¾
The engine hood is pushed up and held in
place by a gas spring.
¾
To close the engine hood pull on the strap
provided and then press the hood down until
it engages in the lock.
5.2 Side cover
The side cover of the engine covering must be
removed for maintenance and inspection work.
Operate the lever and take off the side cover for
this purpose.
5.3 Dirt deposits in the
engine compartment
CAUTION
A mixture of dust, oil and plant residues in
the engine compartment is a source of fire
and thus increases the risk of fire.

Always keep engine and engine compartment
clean.
¾
If necessary clean out dirt and oil deposits.
5.4 Engine oil level
Do not start the engine if the oil level is too low.
Oil dipstick
¾
For a correct measurement the engine
should be run warm.
¾
Park the machine on a level area to achieve
a correct measuring result.
¾
The oil level on the dipstick should always
be between the min. and max. marks.
