8.2 Fuel
CAUTION
Do not refuel while the engine is running.
Quality and cleanliness of fuel are of fundamen-
tal importance for a uniform excellent power and
a long lifetime of the engine.
Always refuel every day after the end of work to
prevent the formation of moisture and freezing
of the fuel system.
More detailed information on this subject can
be found in the supplied operating instructions
of the engine manufacturer.
8.2.1 Filling in fuel
CAUTION
Danger of explosion when handling fuels.
Shut down the engine. Strictly no smoking
when refuelling! Be careful not to spill any
oil/petrol on the ground!

Shut the engine down before starting to refuel

Before removing the tank filler cap clean the
area around it from crop residues and dust/dirt.

Be careful when handling easily inflamma

ble fuels. During the refuelling process do
not smoke, avoid naked flames and ignition
sources.

Avoid fire by keeping the machine free of dirt and
grease residues.
•
Only refuel outdoors. Always wipe up spilled fuel.
•
Finish the fuelling process after the pump
nozzle has shut off.
8.2.2 Fuel gauge
The fuel level can be read on the fuel gauge
when the ignition is switched on.

8.2.3 At the end of the season –
engine area
Fill the fuel tank completely with diesel fuel.
Clean the engine as specified in the mainte
-
nance plan.
If the machine is to be shut down for a longer
period of time, read the supplied operating
instructions from the engine manufacturer and
the corresponding chapters for more detailed
information.
8.3 Engine coolant
From the factory the cooling system is filled with a
special coolant. This coolant protects against corro-
sion and offers anti-freeze protection down to -30°C.
NOTE
The cooling system must always be filled
with engine coolant, irrespective of the time
of year.

supplied for checks and maintenance!
It is mandatory to observe and comply with the
specification of the engine manufacturer!
