8.9 Maintenance of wheel
hub gearbox
Oil change in the wheel hub gearboxes after the
first 100 operating hours and then every 500
operating hours.
In between the maintenance intervals check
the oil in the wheel hub gearboxes every 250
operating hours.
NOTE
Change the oil only with the gearbox at op-
erating temperature!

Park the machine on level ground.
¾
Move the oil drain plug (1) to the lowest posi-
tion and unscrew it.
¾
Catch the oil in a suitable vessel and screw
the drain plug (1) back in.
¾
Open the filler plug (2) and fill in new oil up to
the level mark.
¾
Check the oil level again after approx. 5 min-
utes, top up if necessary.
¾
Close the filler plug (2)

NOTE
Only use the specified gear oil with the correct
viscosity.
Filling capacity per wheel hub gearbox: ap-
prox. 2.6 litres
Approved oil brands:
•
Fuchs Titan Sintopoid LS SAW 75W-140
•
Shell Spirax S3 AS 80W-140
8.7 Notes on maintenance
work on axle and brakes
WARNING
Repair and adjustment work on the service
brake system must only be performed by spe-
cially trained specialists.
Be extremely careful when performing welding,
torch cutting and drilling work near brake lines.
After completing work on the brake system you
should generally perform a brake test.
Perform a general visual check of the brake
system.
The following criteria must thereby be observed:
•
Pipe, hose lines and coupling heads must
not show any external damage or corrosion.
NOTE
Continuously check the brakes for wear and
function!
8.8 Axles
The oil in the planetary gears must be changed
at regular intervals.
NOTE
All maintenance and repair works must solely be
carried out by expert personnel. Safety regula-
tions must be strictly complied with!
Remove all dirt from the steering knuckles once
every day. For this purpose steer once com-
pletely to the left and the right.
