Leakage The leak detector
has been triggered.
Leaks in the measuring
device if the springs of
the leak detector have
been bridged.
Possible defect:
Leak detector, cable,
I/O card
• Check for leaks.
• Check the leak alarm for an electrical short-circuit of the spring
contacts.
• Check signal processing (I/O card slot No. 29, switch input I7)
Go to the programming module PRG/TEST/INPUTS/SWITCH
INPUTS. Insert the cable of the oxygen pressure switch into slot
29. The display should change at switch input I7 when the
connecting contacts on the pressure switch are bridged manually.
If so, replace the leak detector.
If not, replace the I/O card.
Malfunction
Peltier The Peltier cooler
deviates ±3 °C from
the set point.
Following servicing or
maintenance, in the
event of high ambient
temperatures, in the
event of unfavorable
suction conditions of
the ventilator
Possible defect:
Ventilator failure,
cable defective, power
supply outage
Green LED on

Peltier cooler at operating temperature.

• If no LED is lit, check the power supply of the Peltier cooler
control system.
• If the green LED is on, check the transmission cable to the I/O
card and the I/O card itself. If the cable is OK, replace the I/O
card.
• If the red LED > °C is on, check the function of the ventilator on
the cooler. Can the ventilator not draw in a sufficient amount of
air? Is the air temperature too high?
• Is the red LED < °C on?
Peltier cooler is too cold, control system is defective, replace the
Peltier cooler control system.
IR detector
malfunction The measuring
signal of the IR
detector has failed.

After a brief power
outage.
Possible defect:
Cable, I/O card, IR
detector
The IR detector switches to an automatic warm-up phase following a
power outage. The IR detector does not supply any power during this
time. The phase is finished after approx. 30 s and the analyzer
switches automatically to the measuring mode.
• In the event of an error (malfunction constantly present after 60 s).
• Check the connecting cable between the I/O card and the IR
detector.
• Replace the cable of the gas card with another cable (e.g. pH
amplifier to the I/O card and check the signal input. Go to the
programming module PRG/TEST/INPUTS/ANALOG INPUTS
(I/O card slot No. 24 FI2 frequency input).
• Replace the IR detector if the I/O card is OK.
Acid failure If the pH value
permanently
deviates more than
±2.5 from the set
point.
Severely fluctuating
buffer capacity values
Possible defect:
Cable interruption,
pump hose, leaks,
pump control, pH
measurement
• Check the acid cistern
• Is the acid concentration sufficient? Does the acid pump operate at
a maximum feed rate of 200 %?
Increase the acid concentration in the feeder.
• Is acid being dosed?
In the program module PRG/TEST/OUTPUTS/PUMPS, test
pump P3 by specifying values manually.
Check the pump hose for leaks.
• Adjust the pH sensor.
• Check signal processing (I/O card slot No. 26 frequency input
FI4): Disconnect the modular jack on the I/O card slot No. 26 -
does the measured value drop?
Replace the I/O card if there is no change in the display value.
Unstable dosing The drop monitor
does not count any,
or too few drop
events • Is sample in the separation chamber?
• Is pump P2 pumping medium?
Can dripping be observed at the dosing head?
• Is the pressure sensor OK?
Go to the programming module PRG/TEST/INPUTS/ANALOG
INPUTS and observe the pressure sequence when medium drips.
Can a pressure increase > 10 mbar be observed?
Is the furnace fitted with the combustion pipe insert?
• Check signal processing (I/O card slot No. 27 frequency input
FI5): Remove the modular jack from the slot. If the pressure drops
severely, replace the pressure sensor. If not, replace the I/O card.
