4 Wiring
4.1 Electrical connection
Inappropriate connection can cause serious injuries or death The electrical connection must only
be carried out by a certified electrician. Technical personnel must have read and understood the
instructions in this manual and must adhere to them. Prior to beginning make sure voltage is not
applied to any of the cables.
4.1.1 Preparing to wire

Warnung!
Before connecting the device, make sure that the line voltage matches the voltage indicated on the
nameplate.
The following versions are available:
• 115 V AC 50 Hz
• 115 V AC 60 Hz
• 230 V AC 50 Hz
• 230 V AC 60 Hz

Warning!
Danger! Risk of electric shock! Disconnect the device from the power supply system (disconnect the
mains plug). The line filter, the overvoltage module and the main switch are still connected to the
power supply even when the main switch is switched off.

Ensure that the analyzer is sufficiently grounded via the mains connection.

= is the maximum current above which the residual current circuit breaker is triggered.
R = the resistance between protective ground and device ground.
If these conditions cannot be ensured, the device must be grounded on site.
You must make the following connections:
• Alternating current connection via mains plug
• External grounding if necessary
• Analog 0/4 to 20 mA outputs
• Binary outputs
• Binary inputs
• RS-232
The signal connections are located in the EMC screening box on the right-hand side of the cabinet.
The connection for the external ground is located at the bottom on the left-hand side of the cabinet.
