Maintenance of the Avaya G350 Media Gateway

The following commands create ip-rule 10 (for capture-list 501) that captures all packets going to the
H248 default port:
G350-001(Cap 501)# ip-rule 10
G350-001(Cap 501/ip rule 10)# tcp destination-port eq H248
Done!
G350-001(Cap 501/ip rule 10)# composite-operation capture
The following commands create ip-rule 15 that captures all UDP packets from source IP 149.49.70.59:
G350-001(Cap 501)# ip-rule 15
G350-001(Cap 501/ip rule 15)# source-ip host 149.49.70.59
G350-001(Cap 501/ip rule 15)# ip-protocol udp
G350-001(Cap 501/ip rule 15)# composite-operation capture
The following commands specify that the default rule for this capture-list is not to capture packets:
G350-001(Cap 501)# ip-rule default
G350-001(Cap 501/ip rule default)# composite-operation no-capture
To apply a capture-list, use the
capture filter-group
command from the general context. For example, to
set the G350 to use capture-list 501 on its interfaces, specify the following command:
G350-001# capture filter-group 501
If no capture-list is applied, the packet sniffing service captures all packets.
Configuring packet sniffing settings
The packet sniffing service provides several administrative settings you can use to control the capture
functionality. Use the following commands to configure packet sniffing settings:
Starting the packet sniffing service
Once you have defined and applied the packet capture-lists, use the
capture start
command to start the
packet sniffing service.
NOTE:
You must apply a capture-list using the
capture filter-group
command in order for the
capture-list to be active. If you do not use the
capture filter-group
command, the packet
sniffing service captures all packets.
Table 151: Packet sniffing configuration commands
