Dial gauge mounting

•

Rotate the crankshaft up to the TDC

(the reversal point of the dial gauge ro-

tation).

•

Lock the crankshaft at TDC using the

specific tool.

•

Calculate the difference between the

two measurements: using the chart be-

low, identify the thickness of the cylin-

der base gasket to be used upon

refitting. By correctly identifying the cyl-

inder base gasket thickness, an ade-

quate compression ratio can be main-

tained

•

Remove the specific tool and the cyl-

inder.
