The horizontal adjuster is at 8 o’clock (B,
Figure
62
) on the front of the headlight rim and the vertical
adjuster is at 4 o’clock on the rim (C).
1. To adjust the beam to the right, turn the horizon-
tal adjuster clockwise. To adjust the beam to the left,
turn the adjuster counterclockwise.
2. To raise the beam, turn the vertical adjuster
clockwise. To lower the bear, turn the adjuster
counterclockwise.
Headlight Voltage Test
If the headlight does not turn on but its bulb is in
good working order, test the headlight circuit volt-
age as follows:
1. Remove the mounting screw (
Figure 53
) on ei-
ther side of the headlight housing and lower the lens
assembly from the housing.
2. Disconnect the headlight connector (A,
Figure
54
) from the bulb and remove the lens assembly.
3. Set a voltmeter to the DC 20 volt range.
4. Turn the dimmer switch to LO, and check the
voltage as follows:
a. Connect the voltmeter negative test lead to
the black terminal (A,
Figure 64
) in the head-
light connector; connect the voltmeter posi-
tive test lead to the green terminal (B).
b. Turn the main switch on and check the volt-
meter. It should read battery voltage.
5. Turn the dimmer switch to HI, and check the
voltage as follows:
a. Connect the voltmeter negative test lead to
the black terminal (A,
Figure 64
) in the head-
light connector; connect the voltmeter posi-
tive lead to the yellow terminal (C).
b. Turn the main switch on, and check the volt-
meter. It should read battery voltage.
