RECOIL STARTER

DISASSEMBLING SHEAVE DRUM
Disassemble:
• Starter rope
• Drive pawl
INSTALLING THE STARTER ROPE
Install:
• Starter rope
NOTE:
• Insert the rope through the rope holes
on the sheave drum, and then tie a knot
at the end of the rope.
• Wind the starter rope 2 turns around
the sheave drum.
• Place the starter rope through the cut-
away.
INSTALLING THE SPIRAL SPRING
Install:
• Spiral spring
WARNING
Keep pressing down the spiral spring and
install it carefully so that the spiral spring
does not pop out in the course of installa-
tion.
NOTE:
• Install the spiral spring by allowing it in
by one turn of the winding at a time
from the spring peripheral.
• Make sure that the spiral spring is not
installed upside down, since it could be
installed in either way.
