Measuring steps
(1) Turn the timing pulley to match "

1"
marking on the pulley with "
=
"
marking on the cylinder block.
(2) Measure the intake valve and exhaust
valve clearance on #1 cylinder.
(3) Turn the timing pulley for 120°, and
match "
=
" marking on the pulley with
"
=
" marking on the cylinder block.
(4) Measure the intake valve and exhaust
valve clearance on #3 cylinder.
(5) Repeat the aforementioned steps to
measure the intake valve and exhaust
valve clearance on #2 cylinder.
2. Adjust:
• Valve clearance
Adjustment steps
(1) Loosen the locknut .
(2) Turn the adjusting screw in or out
until the specified valve clearance is
obtained.
(3) Tighten the locknut.
(4) Perform the above steps for all valves
which clearance are out of specifica-
tion.
3. Recheck:
• Valve clearance
NOTE:
If any valve clearance is still out of specifi-
cation, repeat all of the valve clearance
adjustment steps until the specified clear-
ance is obtained.
