Sending a Fax
Setting the Resolution
The Resolution key allows you to select the resolution of documents being sent. To set the
Resolution, press the
Resolution
key until the desired resolution appears in the LCD.
Your machine has the following resolution settings:
HALFTONE
Use Halftone for photographs and illustrations. The original will be reproduced in 64 shades of
gray.
Note:
If the document is B4 size, you cannot use the Halftone setting in the following situations:
– With the memory function
– For a broadcast operation
– For a timer operation
– For sending from the document glass
– With the memory polling function
STANDARD
Use Standard for ordinary documents. This setting gives you the fastest transmission. It is the
default setting. If you do not change the setting, the document will automatically be sent in
Standard mode.
FINE
Use Fine for improved reproduction, especially with documents containing small letters or fine
drawings.
S. FINE
Use Super Fine when you need the highest quality of reproduction.
Setting the Contrast
The Contrast key allows you to select the contrast of the documents being sent. To set the
contrast, press the
Contrast
key until the desired contrast appears in the LCD. The three
contrast levels are LIGHT, MEDIUM, and DARK.
