Cover Switch
A plunger-type switch monitors whether the cover is open or closed. This
safety feature helps ensure that during normal operation, the printer will run
only when the cover is closed.
If the printer cover is open, the printer will not print and the following
message will appear on the display.
Note:
Some printer adjustments require access to the print stations.
Therefore, the cover switch can be
temporarily
disabled to allow access to
the print stations while printing.
With the cover open, pull the cover switch plunger outward. It will lock in
the outward position and allow printing with the cover open. To return the
cover switch to normal operation, close the printer cover or push the switch
inward to its original location.
Caution:
Do not remove or otherwise attempt to defeat the cover switch
safety feature. Running the printer with the cover open can result in personal
injury.
