HIGH CAPACITY FEEDER
The elevator door descends automatically when the HCF is out of
paper. The fault indicator light is lit and the display reads, ADD
PAPER TO HCF 0703. Repeat steps 2 through 7.
8. If you are loading different paper (replacing what is already
there) or replenishing the existing paper, it is necessary to
press the button on the top of the HCF to lower the
elevator. Wait until the elevator stops before you lower the
elevator door. Repeat steps 2 through 7.
Note: Refer to the next section, “Handling of special papers in
the high capacity feeder,” for how to load predrilled, letterhead,
and preprinted paper.
Handling of special papers in the high capacity feeder
The following paper requires special handling:
•
Predrilled paper is loaded with the holes next to the left
wall of the HCF (opposite the wall with the MAX fill mark).
•
Letterhead and preprinted paper are loaded face up with
the top of the preprinted page inserted first.
How to select the high capacity feeder as the primary paper source
The optional HCF can be selected as the primary paper source or
as the primary paper source as part of a tray selection sequence.
Notes
•
If the HCF is part of a tray selection sequence, the paper tray
(1 or 2) must have the same paper size.
•
In order for the HCF to appear on the User Interface, the
4213 must have been powered ON after installation of the
HCF.
