PROCEDURE
1 Set to off the trace heating.
2 If necessary, remove the insulation from the HP fuel pipes (003 and 005, Figure 13-12 ).
3 If necessary, disconnect the trace heating pipes.
4 Put an oil tray under the applicable fuel pump.
5 Loosen the four screws (002) on the flange (001) a maximum of three turns.
6 Move the flange (001) away from the valve housing (004) and make sure that air goes
into the HP fuel pipe (003).
7 Loosen the four screws (009) on the flange (007) a maximum of three turns.
8 Move the HP fuel pipe (005) up. Make sure that there is a distance of approximately
3.0 mm between the fuel pump cover (007) and the HP fuel pipe.
NOTE: The fuel will drain through the drain bore (006) into the fuel leakage pipe.
9 Open the screw plug (010). If no fuel flows out, the HP fuel pipes (003, 005) are fully
drained.
10 Tighten the screw plug (010).
