PROCEDURE

Set to off the trace heating.

If necessary, remove the insulation from the HP fuel pipes (003 and 005,
).

If necessary, disconnect the trace heating pipes.

Put an oil tray under the applicable fuel pump.

Loosen the four screws (002) on the flange (001) a maximum of three turns.

Move the flange (001) away from the valve housing (004) and make sure that air goes
into the HP fuel pipe (003).

Loosen the four screws (009) on the flange (007) a maximum of three turns.

Move the HP fuel pipe (005) up. Make sure that there is a distance of approximately
3.0 mm between the fuel pump cover (007) and the HP fuel pipe.
NOTE:
The fuel will drain through the drain bore (006) into the fuel leakage pipe.

Open the screw plug (010). If no fuel flows out, the HP fuel pipes (003, 005) are fully
drained.
10
Tighten the screw plug (010).
