is complete (you will hear a double beep and LEDs will stop flashing), you may exit HyperTerminal and
disconnect your cable.
20. Reboot after downloading the updated software by pressing Menu and then “2” or turn the power off and
then on again.
21. If you performed step 1 (which saves customized settings even after downloading the new software, as
discussed in this procedure), select Save/Restore Menu from the Menu Selection menu. Select Use All
Saved Settings, press Enter and then the right arrow key to confirm.
Jumper Settings for RS-422/RS-485/RS-232
From the factory, menu settings and jumpers are set for RS-232 on com1 and RS-422 on com2. You may
change these defaults in order to use RS-422 on com1 or RS-232 on com2. You may also use RS-485 on
either com port after you change the menu setting defaults and check the jumper settings.
Note: Vicon provides an AurorANet termination box as discussed in the Installation chapter. This box is a
convenient wiring junction but is not required. Using the AurorANet termination box and leaving the
jumpers installed will result in double termination. If you use the AurorANet termination box, remove the
jumpers from com1 or com2 (whichever com port you are using for AurorANet). If you do not want to
use the AurorANet termination box, jumpers must be installed as shown in the table below.
Jumpers are already removed from com1 from the factory, so it may be convenient to use com1 if you have
not changed the jumper factory defaults and will be using the AurorANet termination box.
Warning: Remove power from the AurorAcorD until this procedure is complete.
Remove the top cover of the unit and locate the set of jumpers shown in the figure below. Using this table,
place jumpers in the positions listed in order to define the com ports.
