customizes it to your specific requirements but is not mandatory.

This section has been arranged in the
order of the most important steps first.
If setting up an AurorAcorD for the first
time, program the recorder in the order
of this chapter. You may use the
AurorAcord with the factory defaults or
customize your unit using the menus
discussed in this chapter.
You may use a PC keyboard to easily type titles for
cameras and alarms and also to operate or program the
AurorAcorD, just as you would from the AurorAcorD itself.
To do so, make the connection shown below or connect to
either COM1 or COM2 on the rear panel (a “Y-adapter”
may be used on any RJ-45 jack to use the jack for both a
serial port and the PC keyboard). You may purchase the
cable (product code 7194-00) from Vicon or create your
own cable using the pin-outs on the previous page. Then

keys to your PC keyboard’s keys.
