4. Select Playback Macro and select the macro number. Macros are defined and saved as discussed in the
Operation chapter.

Record Function
Note: Depending upon settings discussed in this section, recording takes place continuously on the
AurorAcorD. Typically, you do not need to manually start the recording process unless you manually
stop recording using the Stop Record function. Note that the primary storage device is the AurorAcorD
hard drive. You may record audio and define audio AGC as discussed in Quick Programming.
The AurorAcorD records video continuously to the hard drive. You may also define a scheduled time for
recording video, as discussed in the Schedules section of this manual, and archive video to the CD-RW or
floppy, as discussed in the Operation chapter. Recorded video may be played back by manual selection, as
discussed in the Operation chapter.
How do I set the AurorAcorD as an event recorder?
Perform the following procedure if you wish to use the AurorAcorD as an event recorder, which records only
when alarms are active in the system.

2. Set the Normal Rate to Off. Set the Alarm Quality, Alarm Rate and other fields as discussed in the

Note: In event recorder mode, video from all cameras is recorded when one or more alarms are active. To
record only alarm video, set Alarms to Only on the Modify Camera Sequence screen. This is discussed
in the
How do I change the order that cameras will be recorded?
section below.
