Defining and Running Macros
Macro: A quick way to initiate functions. For example, instead of keying in a monitor selection, camera
selection, freeze and sequence, you can assign these functions to macro 1. Running macro 1 will perform all
of these functions in the correct order. You may also use a macro to change a menu setting, with or without
displaying the menus during execution of the macro. Time delays between functions are also easy to
program.
Perform the following procedure to define a macro.
1. Press

5. Select Macro Titles. To use the default macro titles Macro “XX”, where “XX” represents the macro
number, select Use Title Defaults. Otherwise, select Change Macro Titles. The macro title editor is used
to define macro titles in the same manner as the camera title editor. To review the procedure of choosing
characters with the editor, refer to Defining Camera Titles in the Programming chapter.
6. Define the macro number of the macro to be recorded in the next step. Use macros 1-10 to run at full
speed (macros play quickly, regardless of pauses during macro recording) and macros 11-16 for macros
that you want to run with time delays between the functions (recorded speed).
7. Select Macro Record Screen. Initiate the macro from the Record a Macro screen by pressing the
PLAY
key. Then key in the keystrokes to define this macro. To create a time delay in macros 11-16, simply
pause before initiating the next step of your macro.
8. Press the Macro key when you are finished recording the macro.
9. Press the Macro key again to return to the Macro Selection screen. Then press
PLAY

Setup and repeat this procedure to define more macros, if desired.
