Entering Passcodes
Note: Passwords are not required the first time that you use the AurorAcorD (passwords are disabled at the
factory). To define and enable passwords, refer to the Programming chapter.
If you have enabled password(s), you must enter the defined password(s) before you can use the front panel
keys (Front Panel password) or access menus (Menu/Setup password). Enter the passwords as requested
on the password entry screens and then press the
PLAY
button.
Checking Available Disk Space
When outside the menu system, you may press
ENTER
to display the disk space left on your hard drive(s).
Several parameters affect how quickly your hard drive space is used. For more information, refer to the
Record section of the Programming chapter.
Defining & Selecting Display Formats
Display formats available when in Playback mode (the Play LED is illuminated) are Full, Quad, 3x3, 4x4 and
Split. All display formats are available in Live mode. Unique sequencing parameters can be defined for each
window in each multi-picture display mode.
To define display formats, perform the following procedure.
1. Press
DISPLAY
to display a multi-picture format.
2. Press
SETUP
to display instructions at the bottom of the screen. Use the number keys to select a camera to
display in the selected window (selection is indicated by a flashing border).
3. The next window will be selected automatically. Use the number keys to select a camera to display in this
window. To proceed to another window without changing the camera for this window, use the arrow keys.
4. Press
ENTER
to display the Main Display Window Configuration.

5. Cameras were already assigned to each window in the previous steps. If you wish to the camera
assigned to a window, you may do so on this screen. For each camera, change the title if desired,
referring the Defining Camera Titles in the Programming chapter for details on the title editor screen.
6. Camera update priorities may be changed in the programming screens or in the Main Display Window
Configuration screen under discussion here. The programming chapter includes a section with detailed
information on this field. If you change the setting in the Main Display Window Configuration screen, it will
change the setting in the Change Update Priorities programming screen, and vice versa. Select the
Update Priority field and choose either High or Normal priority. Select High to update video more quickly
relative to the Normal setting. Use High for more critical viewing locations. The Normal setting should be
chosen for less important viewing areas.
