Uplink Power Control Unit 

An integrated uplink power control and satellite spectrum monitoring 

system to perform automated power adjustments to compensate uplink 
fades while simultaneously performing carrier monitoring. In ArcLight

5.27.4.4 Beacon 

receiver 

Designed to track the power density of a satellite beacon in real time 
and output a temperature stabilized DC voltage that is linearly 
proportional to the beacon power. Used with the downlink satellite link. 

These components are used to extract the beacon from the satellite 
transponder transmission and feed the UPC unit for its correction.
