Interface
- select the appropriate interface from the pull down menu.
MCD I interface names begin with fei followed by a numeral and MCD II
interface names begin with gei followed by a numeral.
Gateway IP
- This field displays the IP address of the gateway to which
traffic should be forwarded (usually the Satellite Data subnet address of
the PBR).
Local Subnet Checking
- click the checkbox to enable Local Subnet
checking (e.g., determining whether a packet is destined for one of the
ArcLight hub components, in which case the packet will be sent directly
to the component rather than to the gateway).
Polling Enabled
- Click the checkbox to enable polling of the gateway
address for connectivity.
Polling Period (sec)
- this field displays the polling period in seconds.
Polling Max Fails
- this field displays the maximum number of poll
failures before the M&C will switch forwarding to the standby gateway.
Standby IP
- this field displays the standby gateway’s IP address.
Distant Polling Enabled
- click the checkbox to enable distant polling
of an IP address beyond the gateway for connectivity
through
the
gateway rather than merely
to
it.
Distant IP
- this field displays the distant IP address which should be
polled for connectivity.
OK button
– Does same thing as Apply button, but also closes the
current screen.
Apply button
–When clicked, causes any new values entered in all
fields on all tab screens to be stored in the NMS memory and
subsequently sent to the MCD. The current screen will remain open.
Cancel button
– When clicked, causes any new values entered in the
fields on any
Tab
screen to be discarded, closes the current screen, and
reverts to the next higher-level screen in the hierarchy. The next time
the screen is opened the values that existed before the current editing
session will appear. The Cancel button will not undo use of the OK or
Apply buttons.
