desired amount of shrinkage of the image and press the knob again to load the
new value into memory and stop the brackets from flashing. Press the knob until
you hear the ‘Beep’ to make the change permanent, otherwise the change will be
lost if you unplug the Scaler from the AC source.
13.5 H/V Shrink Position %

Immediately after the Shrink Level % LCD screen, you’ll find the adjustments that
allow you to position the shrunken image somewhere other than the center of the
screen. Once you’ve arrived at the screen shown above, press the Menu Select
knob. This will cause the Brackets surrounding the left-hand numbers to start
flashing and allow you to move the image left or right. Rotating the knob Counter-
clockwise will move the image to the left and Clockwise will move it to the right.
Upon reaching the desired position, press the knob again to load the new value
into temporary memory. Rotate the knob to the right one detent and press it
again. The brackets will now surround the right-hand number and the brackets
will flash. Rotate the knob Counter-clockwise to move the shrunken image
upwards and Clockwise to move the image downwards. Press the knob again to
load the new value into temporary memory. Remember to press and hold the
knob until you hear the “Beep” if you want to permanently save the new values.
13.6 Flicker

Adjust Scaler Parameters
Flicker Reduction [ Off]
The Flicker Reduction menu will only appear if you have selected a CV or SV
output format. (See Output Image selection criteria in the Top Menu area). If you
are using CV or YC outputs, this adjustment may be of interest, particularly when
you have line drawings or similar fine detail. Pressing the Menu Select knob will
allow you to choose from four possible Flicker Reduction settings. You should
use as little Flicker Reduction as possible because the Vertical detail will be
considerably softened at the highest setting.
When you press the Menu Select knob, the brackets will begin to flash and you
can choose “Off”, “Low”, “Med.” or “High” Flicker Reduction Settings by rotating
the Menu Select knob Clockwise and Counter-clockwise. Make your selection
based on the table shown below and then press the knob once again to store
your choice in Temporary memory.
