Normally, the user will examine the added features of each new software release
and determine if an update is worth doing. The greater period of time between
the current date, and the date shown here, the greater the likelihood that there
are useful changes and improvements present in the new release.
You may wish to make it a practice to update on a date basis rather than a
release basis in which case the date information shown here is especially
important.
17.3 Push To Store

Push to store
This screen provides a quick and easy way to store all current operating
parameters. The Scaler will remember the set up you are using at the time of
data storage when you next apply power. To store the current Scaler settings,
press and release the Menu Select knob.
17.4 RS-232 Baud Rate

RS232 baud rate [57600]
This menu item allows the adjustment of the serial baud rate used for RS-232
communications. Pressing the Menu Select knob will cause the brackets to flash
and the rate can be adjusted to 9600, 19200, 28800, 33600, 38800 and 57600.
Press and hold the knob until you hear the “Beep” to make the change
permanent. (This adjustment is provided for those instances where you wish to
use a third party RS-232 control system. Leave the baud rate set to 57600 when
using the bundled Windows controller in the RS-232 mode).
17.5 Buzzer On/Off

Buzzer [ On]
The screen labeled ‘Buzzer’ is actually the control for turning the “Beep” “On” or
“Off”. Normally this is left in the “On” position to provide positive feedback that
your data entries and parameter changes have been accepted. There is also a
low level audio ‘Click’ that occurs each time you rotate the Menu Select knob.
Turn the ‘Buzzer’ “Off” also turn off the detent ‘Click’ feature.
To turn the Buzzer “On” or “Off”, go to the above screen and press the Menu
Select knob. This function is a simple Toggle and there are no flashing brackets.
